As an example - the picture on the right, is of the guest model who will be joining us in March.

What have these Three Women Got in Common
January 12th 2007
|
|
What have these three Women in Common?
|
In November of 2006, a researcher fom REAL magazine contacted Rosemarie to ask if she would be interested in being the subject of an article in a forth coming issue of the magazine?.
Rosemarie receives many such approaches from TV, Radio, Magazines and papers - but turns MOST of them down - as they generally do not place her profession in the best light.
|
|
Over the shoulder of "REAL's Photographer" - Ruth Jenkinson
|
However - after a long conversation - and two subsequent telephone interviews to finalise the "Copy", Rosemarie decided that she was happy and agreed to appear in this piece.
Hence - on Saturday13th January - an early morning journey by Train, Tube and a short walk, took her to London's Curtain Road Studios, for the starting point of the final stages of the article - the Photography.
Shortly after 10.00, the other two subjects of the Article to be called - "What have these three women in Common" arrived and the day began in earnest.
Revealing more about the days activities will probably give you far too much information and enable you to deduce the point behind the story. It may be of interest though to know that there was a Christian Dior Shoot being undertaken in an adjacent studio!

|
Behind the Scenes as Ruth Jenkinson Shoots images of Rosemarie for REAL Magazine
|
The photography continued throughout the day with Ruth Jenkinson directing the shoot and clicking shutter. -
However - if you want to know more - and see the resultant photographs and story - you will have to wait until the magazine reaches the news stands on February 9th!

Swindon's Artist Back "In the Swing"
|
Following the summer holidays - we were pleased to have a full house at this Old Town Life Drawing Workshop - which attracted new artists from Swindon, Worcs, and Henley on Thames!
The Group, now numbering over 80 (Dont worry - we only accept 17 for each session) Professional Artists, Tutors, Students and Amateur enthusiasts, continues to produce a high quality of work.
Sundays session was typical in as much as we were able to present an extremely competant Guest Model in addition to our featured and pivotal model - Rosemarie Orwin.
As always - a tutor was present to offer help, advice and comment when asked for, during the morning sessions, - and we were delighted to welcome Arran Miles back to this role after her successful Summer Studio Season in Marlborough. The Artists were quick to get back in to the swing and were free to choose the style, medium and pace that they wished to apply to each pose delivered by the models as can be seen from the variety below.

Knuston Hall Northamptonshire
|
|
|
Rosemarie's reputation has once again been called upon to move into yet another Geographical area, as she journied through Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and well into Northamptionshire to present a series of poses to a group of Art Students studying under Dr. Patrick Oates at Knuston Hall - which is an Adult Residential College located near Rushden in East Northamptonshire, - part of Northamptonshire County Council's Community Services.
A Fine Piece of Work from Knuston
|
|
|
This was the first time that Patrick and Rosemarie have worked together - but such was the synergy, that she has already been retained for a number
number of other dates at Knuston later this year and into 2007 - details of these can be found by contacting us using the link to the left, - or by contacting Knuston hall directly by following the link enbedded in the picture of the main building above.
The standard of the work produced by the artists at such classes obviously varies, but the dedication is never lacking. One of the artists attending the class at Knuston on September 6th produced the chalk sketch of Rosemarie on the left.
Rosemarie is currently working at Art Classes and workshops throughout Northants, Oxon, Berks, Hants, Wilts and Avon, - ifyou would like to find out if she is working near you - or would like to book her yourself - please use the link above to email us.

Swindon Railway Village
June 24th - July 2nd 2006
Swindon is often thought of as the real birth place of the country's Railways. In deed it had its own "Railway Village" and at the heart of it, this gothic building was eventually - transformed into the GWR Museum - that is until the new expanded museum opened less than a mile away.
The building has seen a new lease of life recently though as the home of the Cross Roads Art Exhibition, where a total of 44 artists, exhibited over 130 pieces of work with a huge variety of styles and techniques. Follow the link to the Exhibition site by clicking on the picture of the venue to the right.
It should come as no surprise that Rosemarie Orwin should be featured amongst the exhibits - this time though as the subject of the Photographic works of her husband - Tony with this contemporary piece - "Fruit Loops".
This is a set of three individual images available separately from Tony's web site www.fineart.me.uk - which features many Fine Art Nude images in a wide variety of styles. You can see samples of many of his styles by following the links behind any of the "Fruit Loop Images above.
The Cross Roads exhibition is set to be a regular event - with the next being set for
September this year. For more information please navigate to their web site via this link

MAY 20th 2006
Set amongst 300 acres of Cotswolds Parkland, Farncombe Estate will be providing a superb backdrop for the "Go Figure!" Life Drawing and Painting Masterclass between 3rd and 5th November this year.
As this superb residential training centre hosts a diverse range of courses throughout the year, there is an annual event where the doors are flung open to allow prospective students to see and experience the facilities and to meet the tutors and staff. 2006 saw Modelled me uk attending for the first time this year.
As Rosemarie was busy modelling in the South West, her partner Tony took up the cuddgle and traveled to the Cotswolds to set up the stand - and subsequently represent Modelled me UK.
The morning was a hive of activity as the tutors and stand staff busied themselves in preparation - and the picture to the left was taken immediately prior to the arrival of the first of the stream of interested artists who had travelled from around the UK to clarify details on the contents of the course, tutor and models.
If you weren't able to travel to Gloucestershire to quiz Tony on the day
- don't worry - all you have to do is to follow this link -

Modelling is not just about - "Fine Art, Life or Sculpture" as Matter-npd of Bath know only too well. They are a design agency dedicated to brining delight into design and functionality into form.
Since October 2005 they have been working with Modelled Me UK to deliver a series of Life Drawing sessions to the staff in their bright, spacious studio space. This has given the associates a fantastic opportunity to study basic human form and to hone the most basic skill of any designer - the interaction of the human form with "product".

Annual Figure Drawing Session
|
|
|
Benefiting from the experience of nearly 40 years as an active Art Group the Thornbury Art Club, holds regular meetings covering a wide variety of subjects and additionally holds specialist Demonstrations and Tutorials. They also hold three studio sessions every week accommodating up to 21 artists.
2005 saw the partnership established between Paul Weaver - (who also demonstrates City / Land Scapes to the Group) and Rosemarie for the group in an all day Life Drawing session at the Octagon Visual Arts Centre of Castle School Thornbury.
This year, the group were presented with a Clothed "Portrait" session but once again Paul was on hand to talk the artists through the poses with advice on (amongst many others) form, shape, geometric concentration, negative space, light and shade - to name but a few.
The Club members were faced with a scorching pace as Rosemarie worked her way through numerous changes of apparel to deliver "Tableaux" of scenes that the artists may wish to include in their City Scapes or Landscape work.

|
|
Paul interspersed his advice to the artists on their individual pieces with Rosemarie's outfits included Dressing Gown and Slippers, Raincoat, Jumper and Jeans, Swimming Costume, and Finally a summer dress and hat. Each of the changes of dress presented not only numerous poses from Rosemarie - but also numerous opportunities for the artists to explore the opportunities presented to them as they moved around the studio to sketch from different positions.

Paul used one of Rosemarie's poses to explain to the group how the body could be viewed as a series of tubes - and that by simply placing these tubes one after the other and deforming them to produce Elbows, Knees, Wrists and Ankles - the basis of the human body can be constructed - and then "Attired" with skin and clothes to deliver the final form.
Rosemarie's versatility and resources were very much in evidence at the session for the Thornbury Art Club and combined with the help, guidance and assistance delivered by Paul, the group were able to undertake a great variety of work in pencil, charcoal and pastels from over 20 individual poses.
If you would like to join the Thornbury Art Club or find out more about their activities, - please do so via the web link to the right.

John Jebb and Rosemarie Orwin discussing the orientation of the piece of stone
|
|
|
During the time between the 2nd & 3rd visits by Rosemarie to John's Portland Studio facility, he had made a number of important decisions regarding the piece.
Firstly - he had seen how the stone should be oriented - and hence how Rosemarie would need to pose for the piece. As a result he had used the heavy duty lifts in his work shop to rotate the stone and flatten an area on which it would rest unaided.
Secondly he had produced a new maquette to firm up the shape evolving in his mind and to allow Rosemarie to see how she would be required to pose for the piece.
Finally - John had been working on the style that he would adopt for the piece and had decided that the stone was already moving him towards delivering a piece based upon the style of "Cyclaide Art".
The images to the left, hewn from marble between 2600 and 2400 BC, give an indication and feel of the work of the era.
Following these vital discussions, John and Rosemarie moved through to the drawing studio to continue the completion of the initial sketches that they had been working on.
Although Rosemarie has been standing in the sketches, and not crouching over as the maquette shows - the work is vital as it will enable John to gain a thorough understanding of Rosemarie's Morphology, Musculature and Anatomical detail - all of which will be vital to enable him to continue with the piece prior to their next studio session later this year.

"New Life" March 26th 2006 Life Drawing Group SWINDON

The January Life Drawing session delivered not only 20 poses to the Artists - but it also attracted 4 new members to the group - which now is approaching nearly 60 strong - although each session is limited to a maximum of 18 Artists to ensure that everyone has a good view of the model and room enough to produce even the largest of canvases.
For each of our increasingly popular workshops, we endeavor to deliver a new and exciting programme for the artists to draw that will enable them to continue to address a wide variety of pieces.
We make every effort to allow the artists to "Expand their talents and to explore the limits of their own potential".
March will be no exception - but if you want to be one of the group on the day, or want to be included on our mailing list - then please follow the link below, to ensure that you secure a place as early as possible.
