LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP Old Town SWINDON August 22nd
|
|
The Swindon Old Town Life Drawing Group, has been running since early 2004.
Over the years, in order to provide our artists with the highest standard of Figurative Models the we have secured models from across the South and midlands.
However, over the past months we have received numerous requests for Rosemarie to return “To the Boards” and hence the August 22nd All Day Sunday, Life Drawing Workshop will feature Rosemarie as the Lead model once again.
Places for this session are already “Limited” - and so if you would like to join in the Workshop, we suggest that you contact us as soon as possible to find out how you can join in - or to confirm your place. The best way to do this, is to follow the link to the left.

BODY PAINTING United Kingdom Summer 2010
|
|
For many of us, the first example of body painting that we were aware of after the Face Painting of our Birthday parties, was of course, Shirley Eaton in the James Bond Classic - “Goldfinger”.
The simplicity of the all over Golden Glow for many, will remain more of a classic than the film itself.
Rosemarie has been involved in a wide variety of Body Painting projects - often with increasing complexity as you’ll see in “The Dark Demonic Temptress” below.
During the run up to the 2010 Body Painting Championships however, Rosemarie has been working closely with a number of Artists who are preparing for the competition on a variety of projects that will take place in Europe later this year.
Perhaps the more complex designs and deliveries of the artists deliver more impact, - arguably, they require less skill from the model to complete the overall effect.
Hence, Rosemarie’s modeling and artistic interpretation were brought into play when she agreed to work with one of the Artists to deliver a Tableau containing Rosemarie in an all over Golden Body paint - similar to that in Glodfinger, - but here unlike Jill Marsterson (Goldfinger’s unfortunate secretary) - Rosemarie was very much ALIVE!

LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP SWINDON MAY 2010
|
|
Delivering the SOTFAG Life Drawing workshops to the Artists of the South and West has become somewhat of a passion for Rosemarie and her partner Tony.
Their experience delivers many advantages to the smooth running of the much valued monthly “All Day Sunday” sessions, - but perhaps the biggest advantage that they deliver, is the help and advice that Rosemarie can offer to the wide range of models that the couple bring into the sessions.
Rosemarie’s involvement also presents another advantage that has only had to be called upon twice before. As one of the UK’s leading figurative models, she is able to stand in should the models that are brought in to deliver variety for the artists, be unable to attend the session themselves.
The group of dedicated and committed artists attending the session on May 16th, were delighted to be able to work with and draw from Rosemarie again - as her next programmed session with the group was not until August. If you would like to join the group, please simply e-mail us for details of how you can obtain your place.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MODEL FROME MAY 2010
|
|
Rosemarie is one of a small group of models in the UK who is renowned not only for the quality of her work - but also for the diversity.
Although her career started as a “Life Model” working for Artists, Schools, Colleges and the like, as her reputation spread, she found herself being contacted by and working with Sculptors, Design Agencies, Computer Graphics, Computer Games and Animation Companies, Wax Works and very quickly, by photographers.
Initially, this work was solely in the field of Artistic Nude or Fine Art Nude, however, such was Rosemarie’s Artistic presentation and modelling skill, that she found that she was increasingly being sought after as a Lingerie Model and subsequently has worked with a number of carefully selected photographers creating Art Based, Glamour and Lingerie images.
The range of commissions that Rosemarie is being asked to undertake is continuing to grow as the photographic world becomes aware of her abilities and understands that the experience and variety that she is able to offer are a huge advantage to the photographer
 .
Rosemarie’s toned physique, her artistic appreciation, her range and the scope of her work combined with her ability to create stunning poses for photographers with whom she works, continues to attract an ever increasing number photographers to her as “Return Business”.
If you would like to discuss working with Rosemarie for photographic commissions, whether you are a “Seasoned Pro” or a “New Starter”, simply use this link to e-mail her with details of the project that you have in mind.

LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP SWINDON APRIL 2010
|
|
Six Years ago, Rosemarie and her husband Tony took a huge gamble in delivering a Life Drawing Workshop in Old Town Swindon. This workshop was the result of many months of hard and intensive research into the market, identifying a venue, and a whole host of additional activities surrounding the event.
Unsurprisingly, Rosemarie was the model for this first workshop that eventually turned into the SWINDON OLD TOWN FIGURATIVE ART GROUP - or SOTFAG.
The monthly events now draw artists from over a 100 mile radius for 6 hours of concentrated Life Drawing from some of the countries most professional and varied models.

SCULPTURE MODEL Girvan, Ayrshire APRIL 2010
|
|
The wild lonely farmland south of Glasgow, seems an unlikely venue for a studio, or even more so, for a bronze foundry - but Girvan (Near the World famous Turnbury Golf Course) overlooking the Aisle Craig, has been the home of the highly successful sculptor John McKenna, whose huge installation pieces have been intriguing and fascinating the public around the country (and on board the Queen Mary 2) with their Variety, Grandure and Presence.
However, John is looking to add two new ventures to his schedule in 2010
- A range of Life Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Bronze casting courses
- A Limited edition Bronze casting of a Female Nude
For a week in early April, Rosemarie and John worked on planning the courses (Details of which will appear on this web site later this spring) and to collaborate on the first stages of producing the sculpture.
Before John placed the first scrap of clay on the armature, many hours of intricate measurement were required to capture hundreds of vital details of Rosemarie’s morphology - that will be the basis of the intricately detailed piece.
The many hours of mental and physical concentration took their toll on both sculptor and model who were nearing the end of the first weeks work on the piece.
.
John will be scheduling other sessions on the piece throughout the year between the classes that he will be holding and continuing to produce the spectacular pieces of Installation art for which he is so well known around the country.
During the Summer and Autumn, Rosemarie will be travelling to Ayrshire once again to work with John on the piece and hopefully to collaborate with John on some of the courses - which will include the opportunity to produce Bronzes in John’s own “End to End” facility adjacent to his studio, outside Girvan.
Details of the courses will be on this site later this year, but if you would like to know more, please use this lnk.

PORTRAIT MODEL Swindon FEBRUARY 2010
|
|
As a Full Time Figurative Model, Rosemarie is involved with a wide variety of assignments and artists - as can be seen from this News page alone. However, it is sometimes easy to forget that in addition to the work she carries out as a Photographic, Sculpture and Body Casting Model - Rosemarie’s main areas of activity are still with Artists.
Her work is a mixture of “Workshops and Classes” where she is retained for her skill and experience in delivering solid, dynamic and relevant poses that illustrate the subject under discussion. These attributes are aided by her sharply defined Musculature and Anatomical detail that are used time and time again to illustrate the basic form of the female human anatomy.
Additionally though, Rosemarie has been in great demand for private commissions from Artists who secure her services on an individual - “One to One” basis for more prolonged or detailed work.
Such commissions come from Artists with a wide range of experience and expertise - literally from Members and Fellows of the Royal Academy - to relatively new Artists wishing to hone their skills during intense private sittings with Rosemarie. Of course, there are also many grades of artists between the two who have worked closely with Rosemarie. For example - Coll, who last week travelled from London to Rosemarie’s Studio in Swindon for a range of portrait sittings.
If you would like to discuss commissioning Rosemarie to work with you for a figurative art drawing or painting project, please contact her via this link.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MODEL Swindon FEBRUARY 2010
|
|
Increasingly, Rosemarie is finding that her skills are being called upon over ever wider areas - and from a wider range of clients in the Figurative Art market. Throughout though, the common theme is that when new Artists, Sculptors, Photographers, Art Directors, Publishers, Film makers etc start working with her, they are stunned by her striking form, control, artistic interpretation, commitment and professionalism.
Although February has hardly started, Rosemarie has already been commissioned by and carried out shoots for two well known UK photographers creating a wide range of looks in the short time of each of the two location sessions.
Rosemarie is comfortable working as an Art Nude Model, or able to deliver stunning poses with the aid of her varied wardrobe to offer poses across the range of what is loosely defined as “Glamorous”. Here are some of the images:-

If you would like to commission Rosemarie for a series of images - or think that she could suit the needs of a campaign or project that you have in the planning stage, - please use the link to the left to contact her.

BODY CASTING COURSE Reading December 2009
|
|
Over the years of her career as a full time model, Rosemarie has been fortunate to work with a number of great artists across a variety of “specialities”, Sculptors, Oil and Water Colour Painters, Body Painters and Body Casters. She has travelled widely to work with many artists - but coincidentally, one of her most trusted collaborators - Ken Clark, has his studio in Reading, less than an hour away from her base in Wiltshire
Ken’s work stretches back over many years and his pieces are in great demand not only in the Film and Television world for special effects - but also for individuals who wish to have examples of his spectacular work on their walls - or to give as very personal keep sakes to loved ones. Such is Ken’s reputation as a Body Caster, that he is being increasingly called upon to impart his skills in extended one to one tuition sessions.
In such an environment, it is even more important than usual for the model to remain absolutely still - but in a dynamic and interesting pose - to allow the Tutor to concentrate on the technicalities of the process, or to allow the student to carry out the complicated procedures involved to deliver a perfect representation of the part of the body in question.
The process to produce a single piece is long and the focus and stamina required for a model to deliver of their best over a full course, is arduous. However, Rosemarie’s long training in the field pays dividends and her work shows its value for Ken and the students.
The pieces that result from the casting process are unique - “One Offs” however, if you wished to commission Ken to produce a piece for you, or to place you on one of his courses, simply click on the bottom
If on the other hand, you would like to discuss purchasing a cast of Rosemarie (the torso shown above on the easel to the right for example), she would be delighted to discuss it with you. Simply click on the link to the right to e-mail Rosemarie directly
