Sabre Art Quedgley                           Gloucester                           28th Sept 2008

Modelled me UK at SABRE Art QuedgleyEarlier this year, following Rosemarie being featured in a 4 page article in the Sunday Telegraph Magazine - discussions began between modelled me UK and Jackie John and David Hughes of SABRE ART in Quedgley (Gloucester) which resulted in an initial (tentative) Figurative Art Workshop being scheduled for the end of September 2008.

Such was the success of this event that places on it were all filled weeks before the event and a waiting list was created to capture interest for future  Figurative Art events to be held in this spacious facility.Rosemarie delivering a medium length seated pose for the Sabre Art Figurative Art Workshop

The artists who joined SABRE ART and Modelled me for the day, travelled from a wide radius to have the chance to draw with and from Rosemarie - who as usual delivered a stunning series of poses that both delighted and stretched their talents until they departed at 16.00.

Two more sessions are planned for January 11th and mid March 2009.

If you would like to secure a place at either or both of these - please email us for more details on the next sessions at Sabre Art Quedgley use this link to contact us to request your place or to ask for more details.

The Internet and Communications                      Madeira              August   2008

We are often told that the mobile telephone and theRosemarie taking a booking via her Mobile Telephone for the November Residetial Figuratrive Art Workshop on the cliff side at Boaventura - Norhern Madeira internet has become an indispensable element of everyday life and business. This was re-enforced to us recently whilst Rosemarie was on a combined vacation and Photo shoot in Madeira.

Firstly - whilst awaiting the sunshine before the start of a days shooting - we received a call from a lady back in the  UK who had seen a poster for the next residential Figurative Art weekend “The Anatomy of the Nude for Life Drawing” in her local church in the Lake district (It is still a mystery to us as to how it got there). We were able to provide her with information via the mobile - from half way up a cliff hundreds of miles out in the Atlantic and to direct her tOne of the high resolution images that resultedfrom the shoot at the base of the cliffs that will shortly be available via http://www.fineart.me.uko the relevant page on the web site for more information!

Moments later, the skies cleared and we were able to venture down the cliffs to the beach - where we were able to embark upon the shoot.

The scenery in the area is spectacular and provided superb back drops for a whole catalogue of varied, dynamic images that will shortly be available in Galleries in Wiltshire and Oxfordshire - and of course via our sister WEB site - www.fineart.me.uk when it is re-launched in September.

This site is devoted to delivering Fine Art Images “In celebration of the Female Form”. Up until now these images have been available as prints - or framed limited editions - up to A3 sizes. However, from September, they will also be available as 100 x 150 cm Canvas panels . - “Watch this space!”

Armed Forces Art Society Annual Exhibition       London             July 06th 2008

The Mall Gallery - Sculpture a dn PaintingsThe UK has many “specialist” Art Groups, Clubs and Societies, however, one that has caught our eye is the Armed Forces Art Society - who were introduced to us by Roger Taylor - one of the Artists who has been attending the Old Town Swindon Life Drawing Group for over three years.

modelled me UK were privileged to have been invited to visit the Society’s Annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London, where a wide variety of media covering an even wider rage of topics was displayed over the past week (1st - 5th July). The Mall Gallery - Sculpture adn Paintings

Oils, Charcoal, Pen and Ink, Sculpture, Mixed and “Varied” media, - and a blizzard of styles and approach were seen in use in pieces that ranged from the intricate grace of “Miniatures” to the impressive grandeur of paintings over 3 meters in length that would grace any collection, gallery or stately home!Part of the "Figurative Wall"

Naturally, we were pleased to see that there was a good showing of Figurative Art - not only from Roger - but also from

  • Chris Pickford
  • Jenny Hill Norton
  • Sue Fawthrop
  • Ferelith Reay
  • Paul Haydon
  • Ann Wadman

Visit the Armed Forces Art Society's Web site nowUnfortunately, this years exhibition is now closed - but if you would like to see more of the excellent work produced by the Artists and Sculptors of the Society, navigate to their web site via the link in their logo to the right. - You could also put next July in your diary to visit the 2009 Exhibition of the Armed Forces Art Society held in the Mall Galleries London (Just Under the Admiralty Arch).

Fine Art Photo Shoot     Stately Home - Somerset                         July 01st 2008

Head-Start - A Fine Art Nude Image that will shortly be available from www.fineart.me.ukIt is no secret that in addition to the success Rosemarie experiences as a Figurative Model for Artists and Sculptors - she also is much sought after as a model for photography.

This is not only due to her sharply defined musculature and anatomical detail - but also for her ability to act as her own Artistic Director during shoots.

This aspect of her work came to the for in a recent shoot in one of the West’s better known Stately homes when Rosemarie had been commissioned as the model for a set of Fine Art Nude images to be set in the spacious lounge.

After working to deliver the pieces that had been requested, Rosemarie suggested that she climb into an alcove containing a bust that she had seen high up on the wall. This is one of the images that resulted and is a typical example of Rosemarie’s inventiveness and commitment to the task in hand- the creation of works of Art.

”WORKSHOP”                     Old Town Swindon                            June 22nd 2008

Dawn in a Dynamic reclining pose for modelled me UKThis latest opportunity for Artists and Tutors to work with and from some of the most highly sought after Figurative Art Models in the Southern UK was another fine example as to why these monthly events are recognised as  amongst the most effective, enjoyable and productive currently available in the UK.

The day’s (Untutored) activities were kicked off by introducing yet another new model to the group. Dawn - an experienced female model travelled from Gloucester to join the group and for the morning session, delivered a series of short and medium length poses to the delight of the Artists.

The short lunch break was, as usual, filled with the artists quickly consuming their snacks whilst discussing each others work and swapping hints.

Rosemarie in a 20 Minute Pose whilst Dawn presented one of two hours. Our Lead Model Rosemarie then took to the floor to deliver over two hours of of dynamic and extremely challenging short and medium length poses that were designed to stretch and stimulate those attending to take their work into new areas.

Meanwhile, Dawn changed the pace of her endeavors and presented a further single pose for the entire afternoon session. Thus, the artists  had the immediate choice of two fantastic models with whom they could work - and in very different modes.

The choice was further extended as modelled me always limits the number of artists / tutors attending the sessions to ensure that they not only have an unobstructed view of the model(s) - but that they can move around the airy studio space to obtain different perspectives as and when they wish.

Download your copy of the Booking Form hereAfter many months of intense background research and negotiation, Tony was able to announce to the group that Tortworth Court in South Gloucestershire had been successful in its bid to host the next in the highly successful series of residential figurative Art Weekends between 28th and 30th November 2008.

We were also delighted to be able to announce that the highly respected Figurative Artist and Tutor Arran Miles (who was attending this Sundays session to offer Help, Advice ad Comment to the Group) would be leading November’s fully residential session entitled -  “The Anatomy of the Nude - For Life Drawing”.

These focused residential weekends are a feast of figurative art and this November’s has the added advantage of being hosted in a superb Hotel with a great range of facilities and a high standard of accommodation and catering, - however, its suitability to work with modelled me UK was sealed by its UNIQUE studio space that provides unparalleled Light, Space and Atmosphere.

NEW WORKSHOPS          Sabre Art Quedgley - Gloucs.       Sept 28th, Jan 11th

A typical exampe of the Figurative Work of David Hughes Artists in the Swindon Area have been able to take advantage of the high quality of Figurative Art Classes (“TutorShops”), Workshops and Residential Weekends for over four years now. As word spread, Artists from over a 150 mile radius have been joining us whenever they could as well.

It is no surprise to many that modelled me has been asked to extend its reach and we have now been invited to work in conjunction with Jackie John and David Hughes who curate the only Artist Lead Fine Art Gallery in Gloucester. Their facility - Sabre Art - is located at:-

Unit 32 Sabre Close, Green Farm Business Park,

           Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4NZ.

Examples of Figurative and other work from Jackie and David (the piece above is one of David’s) can be seen at the Gallery, but both Jackie and David have a long and varied experience in creating art and it was their interest in Figurative Art that prompted the initial contact and discussions that have lead to what it is hoped will be an ongoing series of both (Untutored) Workshops and the more conventional “TutorShops” in the coming months. Rosemarie presenting a typical medium length pose and being drawn by Sue Mansfield at a recent Workshop.

The first of these events will be held between 10.00 and 16.00 on September 28th and the next in the series on January 11th. They will be delivered along the same lines as the highly successful sessions in Swindon - the focus being the models - and the models supervised by Rosemarie.

”TUTORSHOP”                       Old Town Swindon                                  May 25th

modelled me uk is always glad to welcome new faces to the Old Town Life Drawing Group - and this Sunday,  we were delighted to have two “New Artists” join us - as well being able to welcome Tracey Baker-Stewart into the fold.

Tracey Baker Stewart commenting on Ian Pillinger's workTracey threw herself into the day’s activities and soon had the Artists employing methods that were new to most - utilizing a combination of Graphite, Charcoal and ink to produce some very interesting pieces.

Her bright, enthusiastic and informed approach quickly had the artists totally engrossed in the methods and experimenting in unusual combinations of the techniques worked on throughout the morning’s sessions.

Tracey asking the opinion of the artists on their favourite pieces of the morning's sessions

The afternoon’s sessions produced some extremely interesting pieces - the artists utilising many of the techniques that Tracy had shared with them in the morning

As usual, modelled me were delighted to be able to offer the artists a second model for the days programme to provide variety and a further point of focus. Today’s guest model - John Ablett - travelled to Swindon from Hampshire and delivered a range of strong poses that enabled the artists to produce some very dynamic pieces.

A view of Brenda Muir working on a piece taken from one of Rosemarie's long poses.

The pace throughout the day was, as usual, dictated by the artists attending. During the session after lunch, John presented a series of medium length poses, whilst Rosemarie delivered two one hour poses. This gave the artists a choice not only of the gender of the model - but also the duration of the pose they wished to work on as John and Rosemarie worked separately in the same space

It was a delight to see that both Christine Smith and Brenda Muir fitted in so quickly and were producing pieces that were worthy of a place in public exhibition.
