Figurative Art Workshop Swindon 15th July

Despite the busy “Open Studios” season keeping a number of Artists from the Wiltshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire areas occupied presenting their works to visitors and potential customers - and the attractions of the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford keeping eyes looking skyward through the mists - the Old Town Swindon Life Drawing Group was still able to deliver a dynamic and charismatic session.
The Artists who decided to forgo the pleasures of summer to concentrate on their Figurative Art, were delighted to welcome back Victoria - who performed up to her usual very high standard - delivering a wide range of dynamic poses throughout the day.

The afternoon session saw a new model - Terasa who travelled from Warwickshire to join the group, to provide a further focus for the artists work.
They were treated to the spectacle of these two talented female models delivering short and medium length poses simultaneously - but separately on the stage.
Over the next 150 minutes, they presented complimentary poses to alternate sides of the “audience” who were then able to exercise a wide variety of styles and approaches to produce the wide range of interesting works that resulted.
As always, the artists were from a wide range of backgrounds and today, amongst others, we were delighted to welcome Sean Slater, - the leader and tutor of the Wren Drawing School in Salisbury - for whom Rosemarie has modelled herself in the past.
If you would like to join the ever increasing numbers of artist and tutors who attend one of the hig hly successful model lead “Workshops” - or our less frequent, but equally successful “TutorShops” - please use this link:-

INTERNATIONAL NEWS ENTRY USA 23rd June 2007
Rosemarie Orwin has an unusual status as a model in the UK. Firstly, her modeling is not something that she does “Just to fill in” - or to earn a “Pin Money”, it is her full time career covering the main genre of LIFE, PORTRAIT, SCULPTURE and FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY.
Additionally of course, she has developed a range of Figurative Classes, Course and Residential Workshops servicing Artists around the UK.
This web site too marks her apart from the majority of individuals delivering modelling services to the artistic community as it enables prospective employers to have an instant appraisal of her morphology and to gain an impression of the range and scope of her Figurative Modeling Activities.
Her reputation as an “Inspirational” model has gone before her and combined with numerous other attributes that are helping to spread the word have resulted in interest in her activities being taken up much further a field.
She has already worked with California based Sculptor John Jebb, over a protracted period to produce a number of pieces that we will be featuring on this web site upon completion in the near future.
Increasingly, she is being contacted by photographers to model for Fine Art photography in more and more exotic locations - from the wilds of Scotland’s Glens (Right) to the spectacular scenery of the Tuscan coast line (Above).
Early August will see her traveling to Northern Cyprus to complete what is expected to be a spectacular series of shoots on the coastal and mountainous countryside - and to top up her tan of course.
You will be able to see some of these images on this page in late August - and purchase Mounted, Singed, Limited edition prints too!
Rosemarie’s activities have also been recognised in the media too, where in recent months she has featured in a Business Magazine on her companies success, a Women’s Magazine on her Self Image, a Documentary on the importance of looking after one’s body and in a forthcoming documentary on Nude Modelling, she was retained as Technical Advisor.
A few weeks ago she was contacted by a well known US web site specialising in “Nudist News” and interviewed on her thoughts on the difference between the perception of the Nude in the USA and the UK.
She was also asked to share her thoughts on the role of the Artists Model in the UK - and how she actually started in this “unusual” career that has unexpectedly taken her reputation across the globe - and delivered her nude image on thousands of Artist’s Canvases and Photographer’s Lenses. Figurative Art Workshop Swindon 10th June
The All day Sunday Figurative Art Workshops that Modelled me UK delivers on a monthly basis have become a regular event on the calendars of Artists and tutors across an ever increasing radius around Swindon
One of the major points that differentiate these sessions from some of the other similar events is the range and quality of models that we are able to present.
This month was no exception and we delighted to welcome back Steve - and to introduce LaLa to the group.
In the morning, they both delivered separate short and medium poses

- swapping mats to ensure that all artists were presented with good opportunities to draw from them both

To Many, Rosemarie is an “Inspirational” model. Known for her work as a Life, Portrait and Sculpture Model, but, she is also kept busy modelling in other genre - such as Fashion, Catalogue, Fitness and Fine Art Photography.
She works with Artists and Photographers literally from all over the world. In some instances, the photographers and artists, travel to Rosemarie’s base in Wiltshire, but she has travelled far and wide in pursuit of her Art. (Cyprus, Brazil, Sardinia, Scotland, Tuscany, Gibraltar).
Her ability to remain serene and deliver stunning poses for artist, Sculptors and Photographers is one reason that her success keeps growing.

TUTORSHOP SWINDON 29th April
Artists and tutors from as far a field as London and Bristol journeyed to the first “Tutorshop” held in Old Town Swindon.
With the Hants’ Open Studios event looming, we were grateful to the well known Figurative Artist and Tutor Arran Miles taking time out to lead this inaugural “TutorShop”
Our participating Tutors and Artists were initially presented with the “inspirational” modelling skills of Rosemarie. For her first poses, she delivered a stunning series of 2 minute poses to motivate those attending to embark upon the days journey in to “Gestural Drawing”
These events are increasingly popular and we have already received bookings for the September Tutorshop - but there are places left should you feel that you too would like to join the wide range of talents that comprise the Old Town Swindon Life Drawing Group.
If you feel that your skills and experience are such that you would benefit more from practice than the more structured environment of the “TutorShop” - then perhaps you would like to attend the more regular Workshops.
These occur on a monthly basis and like the TutorShops - run on a Sunday from 10.00 to 16.00, - but, although have the advantage of having a Tutor present to offer help advice and comment when asked for - are “Model Lead”.
This enables the Artists to use whatever medium, paper, style or pace they wish to “Pursue and explore their own artistic Boundaries”.
Both the types of sessions are delivered in the same large, airy and light studio space - allowing the artists to obtain a good line of site to the models.
We believe that the standard of modelling that we deliver is one of the keys to our success.
Rosemarie’s prowess in the Studio is well known -but we are constantly striving to deliver not only Quality Modelling to our Artists - but also a wide variety as we believe that our artists should also be able to draw from a good variety of Morphologies.
We always deliver at least two models for the Artists to draw from and for this TutorShop, we were delighted to be able to welcome Maria on to the stage for the afternoon session who delivered a great series of short and medium poses whilst Rosemarie presented two one hour poses.
If you would like to join us - or simply find out more about these enjoyable and productive sessions, - please follow the link below to contact us.

Old Town Life Drawing Workshop SWINDON 28th January
The artists travelling from Bath, Guilford and beyond to today’s Life Drawing Workshop in Swindon, were greeted by a bright spring morning and two dynamic models.
Jess who has extensive experience as a photographic model - and used her skills to great effect today to the delight of the artists who attended.
The pace was kept up with Steve, rejoining us by popular request, who delivered a single dynamic pose which was followed after lunch by his strong 2 hour pose.
As an example, Debbie (Below) is one of the new guest models who we will be pleased to have join us in March.
The popularity of the Workshop / Tutorshop sessions has been such that we are now accepting bookings into the winter of this year.
