Sunday Telegraph London February 03rd 2008
|
|
Sunday 3rd February saw Rosemarie feature in a 4 page article in the prestigious “Sunday Telegraph”.
The piece written by Richard Johnson was looking at the place of the Figurative Model - with various and relevant references to the attitude of the Art world and the general population at large to “The Nude”.
The story was illustrated with examples of figurative art - and with items on well known Life Models - but throughout Rosemarie was the focus and indeed the image to the right was the opening picture for the piece - which took a full page at the start of the article.
Richard visited Sunningwell School of Art (where Rosemarie carried out her very first modelling commission) to see Rosemarie at work and to interview the artists in the session.
If you would like to read the article yourself, you can down load a PDF version from this link.
Alternatively, you can navigate directly to the Sunday Telegraph’s web site article here.

Grosvenor House London Vision Charity Ball December 01st
|
|
The Vision Charity, is a great organization, - consisting mainly of the the great and good from the Television industry supporting a host of good causes for visually impaired children in the UK.
modelled me UK was therefore delighted to host a table at this years annual Gala Dinner in London’s Grosvenor House to officially launch our innovative Corporate Partners Painting Program (CPPP).
This venture has already proven extremely successful, with events and on going Figurative Training courses being secured from Design and Marketing Companies, - Graphics and Animation companies - and two of the country’s leading Computer Games Companies!
However, the evening itself was a nonstop swirl of music, comedy, lights, balloons, raffles and donations, - with tens of thousands of pounds being raised amidst a sea of Dinner Jackets and evening gowns.
It made a change for Rosemarie to be the focus of attention because of her clothes - but she cut a stunning swathe when ever she set off across the Great Room - and an even more note worthy one on the dance floor - but that is another story entirely.
If you would like to find out more about the vision charity - please click on the logo (above right).

Burton on Trent. Life Drawing Workshop for Computer Games Company Nov 2007
|
|
Art is often seen as a an activity followed as a hobby - or carried out by Artists working for a pittance from a garret. The reality is very different as many individuals rely on Art as an intrinsic part of their every day lives. Believe it or not - today’s Electronic based, Computer driven community is one of those
In 2006, modelled me uk was approached by one of Europe’s leading Computer Games Companies to deliver a series of bespoke Life Drawing Classes for the Animators who created the product that had earned the company such a high reputation. It was felt that the employees needed to be “Grounded” in the techniques that are at the heart of depicting the Human Form - that should it be “Shoot em up’, Strategy, Driving or Fantasy - they all need to accurately depict the human form.
As the quality of displayed image increases, it became more important that the Wizard, Soldier, Bathing Beauty, etc were more “Real”.
modelled me uk long experience in delivering “Bespoke” Figurative Art Classes, Courses and Workshops made it the obvious choice to design and deliver Figurative Art sessions designed for the specific requirements of this company based near Staines (Middx).
Word soon circulated in this small industry - and since then modelled me have been extremely pleased to have been called upon to deliver many more bespoke classes for Computer, Design and Graphics companies - the latest being the UK’s number two Computer Games Company near Birmingham.
Here, our Contemporary Life Drawing Tutor - Simon Woolerton worked closely with Rosemarie to deliver a series of 6 hour Figurative Art sessions at their Warwickshire Headquarters.
The students were delighted with the content - and the standard of their work (though already impressive) was noticeably raised in all those attending.
The final set featured Rosemarie in a long pose with a Snake Skin Projected on her form to deliver that “Special Something” that has marked modelled me uk as one of the countries leading Figurative Art organisations.
Originally renowned for delivering amongst the highest standard of Figurative Art Modelling - we now are delighted to have built up a similar reputation for the quality of “Bespoke” art classes that we have delivered to companies across the UK. If you would like to hear how can have a class or series of sessions designed for your company - please use this link to contact us.

CORK ST. GALLERIES LONDON October 25th 2007
|
|
Rosemarie considers herself lucky to be involved in many of the Modelling Genre, and in particular of course, those of in the field of Fine Art.
Although she is perhaps best known for her Figurative Art Modelling (Life Drawing and Portrait) she is also sought after as a Sculpture Model and in the past has been fortunate to collaborate with a number of well known sculptors in the UK and from further a field.
Her work in this field tends to be considerably more physically demanding - requiring poses to be held for days at a time for the sculptor to form and hone the shape from amorphous clay to finite figurative piece. These are then fired and in the case of works for Sculptors like Hamish Mackie - subsequently that are cast and made available as limited edition bronzes.
Hamish is perhaps best known for his spectacular work with Wild Animals - but very occasionally he produces limited editions based upon the human form.
It was however with a great deal of trepidation that Rosemarie travelled to London in late October to meet with Hamish at The Gallery (28 Cork Street London) to see his latest collection.
Although Hamish was in the midst of a very busy day at the Gallery - he was able to show Rosemarie the range of works that he is currently exhibiting - and of course two of the three pieces on which they collaborated - seen in the image to the right.
The close up on the left shows one of the pieces in a little more detail, however, if you would like to view the pieces yourself, please visit the exhibition (28 Cork Street) up until November 02nd.
Alternatively, visit Hamish’s web site

PAINSWICK Life Drawing Class October 12th 2007
|
|
The recent floods in the Cotswolds had devastating effects on many businesses. However, Amongst those who had to struggle through was Mark Kelland who runs a number Art Classes around the Stroud area.
Modelled me UK has been working with Mark for over three years and Rosemarie was delighted to be asked to model for Mark’s Life Class when it returned to the Painswick Mill Studios .
Mark uses the facility as a base for a variety of Figurative Art classes that he will be expanding in the coming months - and we are delighted that Rosemarie and her modelling skills will continue to be a central element of those activities
As always, Rosemarie’s abilities were greatly appreciated by the group - who had to venture through the building site that still exists whilst the studio sees the final aspects of the extensive repairs required after the rains.
However, if you would like to catch up with Mark’s Art and his Classes, you will soon be able to do so via his new web site, - but until then, please use this link to contact him.
If you would like to contact Rosemarie regarding Modelling - then simply use the link in the story below to send us an email.

OLD TOWN WORKSHOP October 07th 2007
|
|
After the distractions of the summer, it was a pleasure to see the number of Artists who traveled to Swindon on a bright, crisp October morning to stretch their “Artistic Muscles” in the bright studio space between 10.00 and 16.00.
Unfortunately, three of the number had been hit by a “Bug” - at the last minute - too late for any of the eager individuals on the waiting list to be called forward.
The 15 artists who did attend though, were presented with treat as Guest model Andrew, delivered a series of striking dynamic poses throughout the day and was topped by a single long pose which he held from after the lunch break until the end of the days session.
Those Artists who wanted to continue working on short and medium length poses were able to do so as Rosemarie took to the floor at the same time as Andrew and was able to further inspire them with a selection of the poses that have earned her such a positive reputation across the southern UK.

These events are attracting Artists from an increasingly wide radius - if you would like to join us to see why - and how Swindon is putting the Life Back into Drawing - contact us by using this link to E-mail us.

VIDEO ANIMATION LACOCK Sept 29th
|
|
Rosemarie’s work as a professional mode, is continually taking her to new, interesting and exciting locations.
September 29th saw her at the “Home of Photography” the National Trust property in Lacock Wiltshire where she met once again with Christine Durrant to view a Video Animation Sequence in which she had been used as the model for the centre piece - a woman who walks through time viewing important incidents along the time line as she progresses along her journey.
The video was a part of an extremely popular exhibition featuring works in a variety of media from Christine in “The Barn” where Rosemarie was introduced to herself as a Video Character for the first time.
It was difficult to tear her away from the screen for comment - but, in common with the majority of the numerous visitors to the Barn (who had travelled from as far a field as Toronto and Tasmania) Rosemarie was delighted to see the range of quality of the numerous pieces that Christine had worked so hard to produce over the past 18 months - and of course we look forward to seeing more of Christine’s excellent and varied work.
